My Norway trips this year came out a bit spontaneous. For a second year already I’ve been looking in the direction of the Senja island, and more particularly at the Segla rock in one of its fjords. And there I went to Varanger in July, which is to the north of Senja, and in September to Nordland, which is to the south of it. I’m not really sure I can explain this choice. The trails of Senja might have appeared too difficult to me, and I went for some training elsewhere.
A detailed story about the trip is available on Youtube, so I won’t go into it. Will tell about what’s in the videos was left beyond the frame — about this place from a photographic standpoint.
Gimegolts Canyon
A small, easy to reach, and picturesque canyon made me happy with a gloomy weather. A black gloss of the autumn water, the depth of the green tones, and the abundance of peculiar spots framed by some low-rise but sheer cliffs.
Swedish Tayga
On the stretch from Sorsele to Slussfors there appeared a true gorgeous tayga. Harsh and gloomy, countless fir trees, and rivers, large and small.
Marble Castle
One of the two main goals of my visit — the Marmorslottet canyon on a glacial stream with marble banks of astounding shapes.
Bredekrunden Trail
A circular trail over three hills and three rivers. For the most part it was pouring rain. With all the magnificence of the landscape I only took a handful of shots, although did shoot a detailed video.
Approach to Láhko
A cold and windy day. A waterfall on the way to the trail, and the upper lakes, just to make an acquaintance.
Corbels Canyon
The other of my main trip goals. The karst landscape of the Láhko park, and its gem — the canyon.
